We have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Team Leader to join the Children’s Services Business Support Team here at Wokingham Borough Council on a full time and permanent basis.

We are looking for a proactive and focused leader who will play an active role in supporting the effective and efficient delivery of statutory provision across the Children’s Services directorate.

As an Assistant Team Leader you will line manage a team of business support officers working alongside our front line practitioners and take an active role in service development and improvement to deliver better outcomes for children, young people and families.

You and your team will support the day to day running of the service, including facilitating multi agency statutory meetings, responding to email and telephone enquiries, managing mailboxes and supporting the service to ensure all documentation is recorded on the required systems and ensuring statutory timescales are met.

The team are located in our Shute End offices and whilst not be required to be in the office 5 days a week there is an expectation that you will work from the office at least 3 days a week.  

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • A high level of written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience of minuting/recording of high level meetings.
  • Experience of working with confidential and sensitive information.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • Some line management experience.

Experience of working in a Children’s Services setting including Education is highly desirable.
