Wokingham Adult Education Service is looking for experienced adult education tutors to deliver non-accredited English for Speakers of Other Languages courses or conversation sessions from various community settings across the borough and online.  Sessions are held in the daytime or evenings.

About the job

You will work closely with the Community Learning Coordinator to design, plan and deliver engaging courses which stretch and challenge our learners.  You will also prepare learning materials and undertake administrative tasks linked with teaching including recording attendance and learner’s achievement. 

Our ESOL provision is non-accredited Community Learning with an emphasis on language skills for work and for daily life.  Most of our provision is in community venues, with a small amount of ESOL provision delivered via Zoom.  Tutors are employed on a casual contract and tend to work two sessions a week in termtime.

About You

You must hold a recognised teaching qualification or a qualification in adult education at level 3 or above, and have experience of teaching adults.

You should be able to demonstrate a passion for teaching adults and must also be prepared to travel to different venues and work independently without direct supervision.
