About the role

The role is to assist the Debtors team to recover outstanding Debt that is due to the Council:

The role will entail but not limited to:

  • A mixture of inbound/outbound calls
  • Producing reports to aid collections
  • Minimising arrears and maximising income collection
  • Taking enforcement action where necessary
  • Working to targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Completing other tasks assigned to the team on a regular basis including emails.

More about the training, support and development

You will spend time studying a range of topics in order to complete the Level 2 credit controller and collector apprenticeship with GLP Training.  You won't be alone; you'll be assigned a designated trainer who will guide you through your apprenticeship and meet with you every 4-6 weeks working towards a tailored learning plan. You will also have access to a variety of learning resources both internally within the council and externally through your training provider.  

There is a whole network of people waiting to help you. Your manager and team will help with day-to-day tasks, organising your workload and will ensure you are getting the most out of your experience.

 What happens once the apprenticeship is finished?

We ensure our apprentices gain the skills, knowledge and experience to put them in an excellent position to progress further in their career within the council or outside of local government.
