A relentless ambition to always improve
Wokingham is not resting on its laurels. We are proud of the quality of life we offer: with great schools; green space; and a fantastic location. We will build on these foundations to create even more customer centric services that meet the needs of all our residents.
As our Funding Officer you will be an important member of the inclusion team, working closely with the Senior Specialist, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. You will work in partnership with colleagues across the council to support the delivery of our Poverty and Equality programmes, delivering tangible improvements for our workforce and residents.
You will work with internal and external stakeholders to identify funding streams and grants to deliver our annual action plans around our Tackling Poverty Strategy, but also supporting the Equality priorities wherever possible. You will play a key role in linking between council colleagues, our Hardship Alliance and the wider voluntary and community sector partners to identify funding needs and opportunities, prepare bids and monitor delivery of those action plans and associated performance measures.
You will have experience of attracting funding for projects and writing funding bids, being innovative in identifying and developing approaches and supportive of colleagues to deliver the required funding aligned to action plans. Ideally you will have a knowledge of the current equality and inclusion landscape, particularly relating to poverty in affluent areas. You will be confident engaging with a range of different stakeholders, maintaining positive collaborative relationships and able to offer clear advice, guidance and support around funding and feedback requirements for the related projects.
This post is part time at 0.6 FTE and is initially offered as a fixed term contract for 2 years.
