The Duty, Triage and Assessment Team (DTA) are looking to recruit a skilled, permanent Assistant Team Manager to oversee the assessment work in the front door to Children’s Services at Wokingham.
As Assistant Team Manager - You will be responsible for overseeing the case work of a group of social workers undertaking child and family assessments, child protection investigations, Section 7 reports and on occasion work up to initial hearing if the need for care proceedings is identified early on. Using the Signs of Safety Practice Framework alongside a relationship-based practice approach, you will enable social workers to assess the worries and needs for children as well as the strengths and safety within the network, helping to agree a safety plan and next steps within the legislative and procedural framework. You will provide regular supervision and help to create a team culture of learning alongside attending leadership sessions to broaden your own practice knowledge base.
The ideal candidate will be dynamic and analytical in their approach and be experienced in this field of work. It is pivotal the effective candidate can manage competing demands and prioritise effectively to promote safe, positive and timely decisions for the children and young people of the borough.
