Safeguarding Practitioner – Adult Safeguarding Hub

Are you committed to achieving effective outcomes in Adult Safeguarding and being part of a forward-thinking Safeguarding Team? Are you a registered Social Worker, Nurse or Occupational Therapist, or do you come from another profession/statutory agency role where you have significant experience of working with vulnerable adults in a safeguarding context?

If so, the council has recently changed the way it works with this complex and challenging area of practice and continues to develop the fledgling Adult Safeguarding Hub. We have an exciting opportunity for you to be part of that service and way of working. This role provides the opportunity for an interesting mix of both preventative and reactive safeguarding work.

We are looking for practitioners, with demonstrable experience of working in an Adult Safeguarding context, including having undertaken or played a significant role in, Sec 42 Enquiries under the Care Act 2014.

You will have a sound knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks, including the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Human Rights legislation, and you will have an ability to demonstrate a commitment to the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal whilst discharging your statutory Duties. You will have strong communication skills and be confident in working with all stakeholders, with an ability to think flexibly and creatively in a solution focused way.
